Today, I'm going to review two more of the winning websites that received an IceCaves.net Web Award and show you the best aspects of these sites that helped the site to become a final nominee and move on to the voting round. The two sites I'm going to review today are Skylish and Heartdrops.

Skylish
Skylish

Skylish is a personal blog by Catherine where she also offers a variety of designs, resources, and helpful tutorials. Skylish was the winner of the IC Web Award for Best Overall Website Design this past December for its current winter-themed designs. I have to say, when it came to choosing the final nominees, Jenny and I were blown away by this layout design. What Catherine did with this website design was implement a combination of HTML and CSS innovations that, when placed together in a single design, was highly impressive in our reviewing process. Even with the flashy yet effective implementations of button rollovers and 24-bit PNG images and backgrounds, Skylish's layout design remains simple and unique. The site also implements various JavaScript-powered show/hide features throughout the site to keep things concise and organized.

Aside from the blog, the website also offers various designs, resources, and tutorials, and they're definitely worth the time of checking them out. The tutorials are what impressed me the most, personally. They're really well done and they're not for total newbies either, which is always a plus. ;)

Heartdrops
Heartdrops

When Heartdrops won in the voting round the IC Web Award for Best Content/Resources/Services, I was not surprised. This category was filled with a list of highly qualified websites, and Heartdrops was viewed by Jenny and I to be one of the leading contenders for the award. Owned and maintained by Georgina, Heartdrops is by no doubt a website with a seemingly endless amount of work put into it. The best way to see everything for yourself is simply by visiting the site and taking a good look around. And you're bound to run into something you're interested, too.

Heartdrops is one of the rare websites where both quality and quantity are abundant. The site specializes in web design resources, tutorials, and tips, but it is also a personal blog with a variety of other content such as opinion pieces by Georgina as well as other helpful tips. Georgina also reviews websites on her blog, and the site also offers website hosting through a site called Heartdrops.info. Again, you should take the time to explore Heartdrops and see what it has to offer and what you like. :)
